The Central Library of Govt. Arts & Science College, Kozhikode is the heart of the college and has a special place in the world of higher learning and research. The library established in 1964, tries to prove itself to be the most dynamic library in providing professional assistance to students and faculty in their academic activities. In addition to providing academic materials, the library also deliver various information and research services like finding and organizing information and at interpreting information needs.
GASC library provides quiet areas for studying, and also offer common areas to facilitate group study and collaboration for project works. Apart from delivering printed resources, the library provides facilities for accessing e-journals, e-books and other electronic resources. Now it has a collection of more than eighty thousand documents. The library occupies a total carpet area of about 4905.437 square feet, with spacious stack-rooms for Language and Literature collection, Humanities collection, Science and Maths collection, reference and reading rooms. The first floor houses Humanities, Science and Maths section and ground floor houses Reference, Language and Literature sections and also houses the administrative wing and circulation counter. There is a separate building for periodical section and archives.
